Girls Youth Basketball
This program provides girls in grades 3-6 the opportunity to learn and grow through basketball. Participants will focus on skill development, teamwork, game fundamentals, and good sportsmanship while competing in a positive and encouraging setting.
Parent Expectations
Our Girls Youth Basketball program relies on strong family support to provide a positive experience for all athletes. Parents are expected to:
- Encourage good sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude both on and off the court.
- Ensure players attend practices and games regularly and arrive on time.
- Communicate with coaches regarding absences or concerns.
- Support program fundraising efforts by selling raffle tickets during the season.
- Volunteer during our annual youth basketball tournament hosted in December (12.5), helping with concessions, admissions, scorekeeping, setup, cleanup, or other assigned duties.
- Represent the program in a respectful and positive manner at all events.
Parent involvement is essential to the success of our program and helps keep participation opportunities affordable and enjoyable for all players.
Player Expectations
The goal of our Girls Youth Basketball program is to help players develop basketball skills, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship in a fun and positive environment. Players are expected to:

Players who consistently demonstrate these expectations help create a positive experience for everyone involved in the program.
3rd Grade
The focus will be on skill development and learning the fundamentals of the game, including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Practices will be held on Saturday mornings from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, beginning in November and continuing through February. Players of all skill levels are welcome. Our goal is to help young athletes build confidence, develop their basketball skills, and foster a love for the game while having fun with their teammates.
4th Grade
Players will continue to develop dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, teamwork, and game strategy through structured practices and game experience.
The team will participate in the SEMN League, providing athletes with regular opportunities to apply their skills in game situations while continuing to learn and grow as players. In addition to league play, the team will compete in one traveling tournament during the season.
Our focus is on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fostering a love for the game in a positive and encouraging environment. Players of all ability levels are encouraged to participate and strive to improve throughout the season.
5th Grade
Players will continue to develop dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, teamwork, and game strategy through structured practices and game experience.
The team will participate in the SEMN League, providing athletes with regular opportunities to apply their skills in game situations while continuing to learn and grow as players. In addition to league play, the team will compete in two traveling tournaments during the season.
Our focus is on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fostering a love for the game in a positive and encouraging environment. Players of all ability levels are encouraged to participate and strive to improve throughout the season.
6th Grade
The 6th Grade Girls Basketball program offers two participation opportunities: a SEMN League team and a Traveling Team. This structure allows players to choose the level of commitment and competition that best fits their goals and development.
Players interested in the Traveling Team will participate in tryouts. The Traveling Team is designed for athletes seeking a higher level of competition and commitment. Team members will attend weekly practices and compete in approximately 9 tournaments throughout the season, traveling to various locations. Due to the additional tournament entry fees, travel, and team expenses, the Traveling Team will have a higher registration fee than the SEMN League option.
The SEMN League team provides players with opportunities to continue developing their basketball skills through league competition while emphasizing fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
If a player registers for the Traveling Team but is not selected through the tryout process, they will have the option to participate on the SEMN League team. In that case, a refund will be issued for the difference in registration fees between the Traveling Team and SEMN League options.
Both programs focus on player development, building confidence, and fostering a positive basketball experience. The Traveling Team will provide a more intense and competitive environment for players who are ready to challenge themselves and compete against strong opponents throughout the season.
